Hart Photography - Welsh Landscapes & Wildlife Images by David Hart

Wildlife Images

When you spend so many hours out with dogs/cameras/walking its only natural that at some point you will be fortunate to see some of the wildlife that abounds in our countryside. Over the years i have had some fantastic experiences, some of which i have captured and displayed here in these galleries, It is fair to say that luck and being in the right place at the right time count for a lot, however preparation and knowing your subject can tip the balance in your favour a great deal. field craft is something that is hard to come by and can be a painstaking process to learn and get right, when you get it right the experience can be most rewarding, although it is still fair to say there have been many missed opportunities over the years,  some of those lost opportunities are down to the fact that i have spent more time watching the drama unfold before me and forgetting i have a camera with me, sometimes the joy is to be had in the watching not the picture taking.

Some of the best memories include the scene where two red squirrels were so engrossed in chasing each other that my presence was completely forgotten and i almost became a substitute trees to run around. Another time all that stood between me and two jostling Red Deer Stags was a small 3 foot fence in Glencoe, exhilarating stuff!

What ever animal of plant you intend capture on film we should always remember that the picture takes second place to the welfare of that which we are photographing.
